Chinese moxibustion treatment, is used as an adjunct to acupuncture, also known as moxibustion acupuncture, or moxa acupuncture. Moxibustion therapy gives a pleasant sensation of penetrating warmth to specific acupuncture points in the body.

Applying Moxibustion Therapy
In mugwort moxibustion therapy, Artemisia Vulgaris, or mugwort – a slow-burning herb, burns without a flame to provide a special warming-up function. The herb is usually applied as moxa sticks, moxa boxes or moxa balls.

The herb used in Moxibustion is Artemisia Vulgaris, which is also known as mugwort (艾草). Mugwort is believed to enhance energy flow. To apply, we light the mugwort and hold it close to the selected energy points to unblock stagnation and reinstate energy flows. There is no direct contact of the herb to the skin so you will only feel a soothing warmth.
In Chinese medicine scripture, moxibustion was described to be able to help stimulate sluggish, deficient or stagnated energy. It amplifies the self-healing effects of acupuncture. This is why moxibustion and acupuncture therapies have frequently been used together since long ago.
